Samsung is expected to release the budget model of its flagship smartphone Galaxy S20 in the fourth quarter of this year as the company seeks to boost mobile sales amid infections.
Temporarily named the Galaxy S20 FE, the handset is expected to add a new dimension to the Samsung flagship Galaxy S20 series in February.
Sources said the 5G-supported Galaxy S20 FE will be launched in South Korea from November as news anchor Yon Hop reports that local telecom operators have begun testing network compatibility with the device.
According to sources, the Galaxy S20 FE is priced at 70 670 or higher.
The standard Galaxy S20 price tag is over 1,000.
Foreign tech reviewers estimate that the Galaxy S20 will support a 6.5-inch RAM with a 6.5-inch display and 128GB of storage space at a 120-inch refresh rate.
Industry officials say Samsung is trying to average sales of the Galaxy S20 with the launch of a new budget smartphone.
The Galaxy S20 FE will help Samsung compete with Apple Inc. in revenue when US giants launch the new iPhone 12 series later this year.
